ExxonMobil has begun mobilising its workers to restart activities in the Hides area of the PNG LNG project after resolving a land dispute.

 

“Community leaders in the Hides area have come to a resolution with the government to allow work in Hides to resume,” said a spokeswoman for ExxonMobil’s Esso Highland subsidiary.

 

Work in the area had been suspended for about two weeks as a result of what ExxonMobil described as unlawful activities undertaken by some members of the local community.
