Woodside is looking at de-bottlenecking options for the existing Pluto LNG export train after drilling for expansion volumes fell flat.
The Australian operator said it has asked its engineers to consider how to improve the performance of the first unit, which came online in April. “We’ve now turned our engineers’ minds to how can we de-bottleneck the existing Pluto train. They’ve got some ideas… that they’re working on,” said chief executive Peter Coleman (pictured) in a first-half results briefing.
“It’s too early for me to give you guidance on where those ideas are heading but I can unequivocally tell you we are turning our minds (to) what opportunities there are at Pluto.”
