TransCanada is expected to build, own and operate a new C$4 billion (US$3.8 billion) natural gas pipeline in British Columbia that will provide feedstock to Shell’s proposed LNG Canada project in Kitimat.
A definitive agreement is still being negotiated.
The 700-kilometre, 1.7 billion cubic feet per day Coastal GasLink, which is expected to be in service towards the end of the decade, will also provide options for shippers to access supplies through an interconnection on its Nova Gas Transmission system.
