Shell has selected TransCanada to build a $4 billion pipeline which will connect to the LNG Canada export project in British Columbia.

The infrastructure outfit revealed it has won the contract to design, build, own and operate the proposed Coastal GasLink project which will transport gas from the Montney region near Dawson Creek to Shell’s planned liquefaction facility in Kitimat.

Shell has partnered with Mitsubishi, Korea Gas and PetroChina to form LNG Canada, which plans to develop a two-train liquefaction plant at a site already purchased by Shell.
