French energy giant Total has signed final agreements with Russian gas producer Novatek to take a 20% interest in the Yamal LNG project.
Completion of the deal comes just days after Novatek exercised two options to purchase an additional 49% stake in the project, which at that point gave it 100% control.
A Cyprus-registered vehicle controlled by Russian businessman and Novatek shareholder Gennady Timchenko issued the first option for 23.9%.
