PTTEP is rethinking the design of its floating LNG production project off north-west Australia after tapping larger than expected gas resources.
The Australasia division of the Thailand state exploration company is reassessing “a range of production options”, which could mean a move to onshore or a higher capacity floater.
The need for extra evaluation is also pushing back the schedule. Front-end engineering and design is now not expected to start until the third quarter at the earliest.
