Timor-Leste’s re-elected prime minister has reiterated his commitment to a subsea pipeline that will bring the large Greater Sunrise gas resource to his country’s south coast.
“The government is committed to bringing the pipeline from the Greater Sunrise field to the south coast of Timor-Leste,” Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao said in his swearing-in speech at the end of last week.
The development of the Sunrise project is deadlocked due to a disagreement between the Woodside-led Sunrise joint venture and the Timor-Leste government about how to develop the field.
