French engineering company Technip has been awarded a €210 million ($275 million) offshore commissioning contract for the Ichthys LNG project off the north-west of Australia.

The deal will cover activities related to the preparation and execution of the offshore commissioning for the floating production, storage and offloading vessel at the field and the central processing facility.

Work will kick off immediately and is expected to be completed following delivery of first gas from the Ichthys LNG project, which is currently scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016.
