Italian energy company Eni and Murphy Oil of the US are preparing to drill gas exploration wells off Australia targeting LNG-scale resources.
Both companies will be using the Ensco 109 jack-up rig with Eni first to the plate.
The company is expected to spud an exploration-appraisal well on the Heron discovery in block NT/P68 off Northern Territory after 19 August, according to partner MEO Australia.
