Adrilling partner is reporting early signs of encouragement in the Boreas-1exploration well being drilled by ConocoPhiillips in Australia’s Browse basin.
The US supermajor is drilling the probe in anexploration campaign using the semi-submersible rig Transocean Legend that istargeting LNG-scale gas reserves.
Partner, Karoon Gas Australia, said Boreas-1 hasintersected a zone where factors such as “sandy drill cuttings and an increasein the mudlog gas readings” indicated a potential gas bearing reservoir.
