Partners in the huge Shtokman project in the Russian Arctic aim to decide by the end of next month on a new framework agreement for developing the field.
Original proposals for a mixed pipeline and LNG first phase have been under review since March when a sanction decision was pushed back to July. An all-LNG first phase is now on the cards.
“Our only concern is the timing and the risk that the redefinition of the project might delay the final investment decision,” said Christophe de Margerie (pictured), chief executive of project partner Total.
