Norway’s Statoil and Total of France could remain in the mix at the Shtokman export project as Gazprom seeks new partners for the scheme.
Alexander Medvedev, the Russian gas giant’s vice president, also told the World Gas Conference that all three phases of the proposed project are likely to be LNG.
“Our decision to switch Shtokman to a full LNG project reflects our vision for gas demand and supply,” he said in a Dow Jones report.
