South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries is emerging as favourite to scoop the job of hull builder for ConocoPhillips’ planned floating liquefaction unit design.
The US supermajor has been touring yards in Korea, Japan and China in its quest to find an FLNG construction partner, sources said.
Technip, which is working with both Petronas and Shell on FLNG, is said to have already been selected to build the topsides.
