Shell’s LNG export project in Canada’s British Columbia province is “on the front burner”, an executive said.

The costs of pipeline and liquefaction plant construction, however, will have to be weighed up against other projects under consideration at the company, finance chief Simon Henry told The Globe and Mail newspaper.

The Anglo-Dutch supermajor is planning an LNG plant at Kitimat in a joint venture with Korea Gas, Mitsubishi and China National Petroleum Corporation.
