Shell is in final talks with three Asian players on a deal to export LNG from western Canada.

The Anglo-Dutch supermajor is working to form a broad joint venture deal with Japan’s Mitsubishi, China National Petroleum Corporation and Korea Gas, Nikkei reports.

The deal could be completed as early as this month, allowing the outfits to embark on the permitting process.

Shell has purchased a site in Kitimat, British Columbia, to build the plant.
