US-based conglomerate Seaboard has unveiled a proposal to transport domestically produced LNG on shipping containers to markets in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The company’s SB Power Solutions arm has asked the Department of Energy for permission to export 550,000 tonnes per annum over 25 years to countries with a US free trade agreement.
That would include the Dominican Republic, where Seaboard operates gas-fired power generation capacity.
