Cheniere Energy Partners was hit with a $73 million loss in the second quarter as development and operational costs at its proposed Sabine Pass liquefaction project spiralled.
The Houston-based developer said $35.7 million of the loss related to the export facility planned for Louisiana and pipeline development expenses.
They also included losses due to the early extinguishment of debt. Cheniere paid off the entire outstanding balance of 2008 loans, due in 2018, during the quarter.
