Qatari producer RasGas has sold another 2 million tonnes per annum of LNG to Korea Gas under a 20-year deal beginning in 2013. The agreement also includes incremental volumes from 2012 to 2016.
Kogas now holds long-term contracts for a total of 7 million tpa with RasGas. The South Korean utility has been holding talks to secure additional term volumes from Qatar, sources said, in an effort to cut its reliance on spot market purchases.
