Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim al Thani has indicated his government is planning to invest in a new LNG project and associated power plants in Egypt.The $8 billion infrastructure development will be located at Port Said, the northern entrance to the Suez Canal. Al Thani said that feasibility studies and design work would begin soon. Neither Qatari nor Egyptian officials were available for comment.
