*Chevron has made another gas discovery in the Carnarvon basin off Western Australia that adds to its LNG feedstock base. The US supermajor said its Satyr-2 exploration well confirmed about 39 metres of net gas pay in the WA-374-P permit, which is located about 120 kilometres north-west of Barrow Island where Chevron is building the grassroots Gorgon LNG project. The well, drilled to a total depth of 3796 metres in 1088 metres of water, is the company’s 15th discovery in Australia since 2009.
