Canada’s InterOil believes the Papua New Guinea government is planning to cancel its Gulf LNG project agreement.
The company said it has received “through an unofficial channel” a copy of a government notice of intent to tear up the 2009 deal and is “strongly of the view that the state has no right at present to terminate the project agreement”.
