India’s Petronet LNG is in talks with Houston-based Cheniere Energy to buy future US exports.
An eventual deal could see the Indian importer become a long-term off-taker at Sabine Pass LNG, where Cheniere is proposing to build liquefaction capabilities.
Petronet LNG managing director AK Balyan acknowledged the discussions in a Bloomberg News article today.
The company operates the Dahej LNG terminal in Gujarat state and is building a second facility at Kochi, Kerala.
