Petronas Gas of Malaysia is expected to raise the flag for its first floating liquefaction and regasification projects at the World Gas Conference in Kuala Lumpur next week.
The state energy player is set to sign a contract with partners Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Technip for the construction of a 1.2 million tonnes per annum floating production, storage and offloading unit.
The floater will be used from late 2015 or early 2016 to develop Petronas’ Kanowit gas discoveries off Sarawak in East Malaysia.
