Shipyards and contractors are limbering up to compete for the front-end engineering and design job on a second LNG floating production unit for Malaysian giant Petronas.
Four consortia are understood to have expressed interest in competing for the FEED job, according to industry sources. They include a pairing of Samsung Heavy Industries and JGC, a tie-up of Hyundai Heavy Industries and Technip, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in partnership with Chiyoda and Saipem, and a mystery fourth grouping that has yet to be identified.
