Front-end engineering and design could finally get under way this year at the Scarborough gas field off Western Australia, which will likely end up feeding one of a number of LNG projects.

 

Deciding on the most economic way to develop the field, and answering other commercial questions, have occupied 50:50 project owners ExxonMobil and BHP Billiton for two years.

 

However, there are now signs of movement.
