Osaka Gas is in talks to score an off-take deal at north-west Australia’s Ichthys LNG project.
Executive Kenji Kawamoto said an eventual agreement could involve taking a shareholding.
“We’re looking forward to reaching a set of deals on an equity stake and LNG purchase combined,” he told Reuters.
Osaka Gas is a key Japanese importer but also is a global player with holdings in terminals in Spain and the United States.
