London-listed Ophir Energy has made another natural gas discovery offshore Equatorial Guinea.
The explorer said the Fortuna West-1 well, the third and final on Block R, encountered a 72 metre gas bearing column which contained a total of 60 metres net pay in the primary target Late Miocene sands of the western lobe of the Fortuna complex.
The find has boosted plans for a second liquefaction train at the Equatorial Guinea LNG export plant on Bioko Island.
