Oman LNG and Qalhat LNG are considering a potential merger.
Oman’s government has asked the companies, which own the country’s liquefaction facilities at Qalhat, to evaluate the proposal. The sultanate controls major stakes in both outfits.
The merger talks are still at the “idea stage”, Oman LNG chief executive Brian Buckley told local newspaper Muscat Daily.
“There have been some preliminary evaluations of this proposal that are now being considered by the shareholders of Oman LNG and Qalhat LNG,” he said.
