Independent gas producer Novatek is “waiting to hear back” from contractors aiming to build liquefaction trains for its $20 billion Yamal LNG project in the Russian Arctic.

Chief financial officer Mark Gyetvay said the company recently invited the world’s “eight largest builders of LNG complexes” to a seminar where the operator and its front-end engineering and design contractors CBI Lummus, Saipem and Chiyoda detailed the task at hand.
