- Statoil has confirmed it is in the process of restarting production at the Snohvit LNG export project in the Barents Sea. The 4.2 million tonnes per annum Norwegian plant was shut down on 10 July after a water leak in the natural gas dryers, which can lead to a build-up of ice in the cooling circuit. A Statoil spokesman declined to name the day when production will resume but reaffirmed the company’s original estimate of early this month.
