- LNG terminals in the US look set to emerge unscathed from Hurricane Isaac, which hit the Gulf Coast this week. Cheniere Energy said normal safety precautions were taken at the Sabine Pass LNG terminalin Louisiana in anticipation of the weather in the area but the site is operational. A spokesman for the Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil-controlled Golden Pass terminal, which sits across the way from Sabine, said storm preparations were implemented two to three days prior to the hurricane reaching landfall.
