Algeria is poised to bring its much-delayed new Skikda LNG train online within months after kicking off commissioning activities.
Construction contractor KBR said work is close to being wrapped up on the project, which has proven challenging due to upheavals at developer Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-owned oil company.
“Right now the Skikda project is in commissioning. We are getting ready to put first gas in the train and hope to have it commercial early next year,” said KBR chief executive William Utt at a conference this week.
