Harib Al Kitani has become the new chief executive of Oman LNG, adding further momentum to a potential merger with neighbouring domestic producer Qalhat LNG.
Al Kitani, once a chief executive at Qalhat, will be the first Omani national to head the company. A spokesman at Oman LNG said: “Al Kitani’s experience in virtually all aspects of the business leaves him in prime position to drive development forward.”
Oman and Qalhat’s production trains share the same site and use the same natural gas source.
