London-listed Ophir Energy has found more natural gas offshore Equatorial Guinea and now estimates there is enough available to support a second liquefaction train in the West African nation.

The Fortuna East-1 step-out exploration well in block R hit gas in an eastern lobe of the deep-water Fortuna complex and also found gas in a separate prospect called Viscata.

Ophir is now drilling ahead on the third and last well of its block R exploration campaign.
