KBR has carried out pre-front-end engineering and design work on a Shell-led liquefaction project planned for British Columbia.
The US contractor said it is involved in three of the export projects under development in Canada.
It continues to work on feasibility studies for Petronas and Progress Energy’s proposal and is “continuing to support the Kitimat project”, where it is participating in an open book tender for a lucrative engineering, procurement and construction contract after completing the project’s FEED.
One market watcher noted that an EPC deal and a final investment decision may be pushed back into early 2013 for Kitimat LNG as developer Apache works out pipeline-related issues.
Apache said this week it expects the plant to start-up in 2017.
