Jordan Cove Energy has asked the US Department of Energy to allow worldwide exports of LNG from its proposed plant in Oregon state.
The company is seeking to ship out 6 million tonnes per annum of LNG to countries that do not have a free trade agreement with the United States. The license would last 25 years.
