Oregon’s Jordan Cove Energy has filed the first application to export LNG from the US West Coast with the Department of Energy.
The developer, which had previously been planning an import terminal at Coos Bay, wants permission to send volumes to countries that have a free trade agreement with the US.
The joint venture of Canadian independent Veresen and Energy Projects Development plans to apply later to export to the rest of the world.
