Woodside is working to finalise a deal to sell equity and off-take in its Browse LNG project to a consortium of Japan’s Mitsui and Mitsubishi.
The Australian operator said Tuesday that existing project shareholders chose to not exercise their pre-emption rights associated with a preliminary deal forged with the conglomerates’ Japan Australia LNG (MIMI Browse) joint venture.
Also, Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board has said that it does not object to the equity sale.
