Initial stamp of approval for new cargo tank from DSME

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has got a technical nod for a new type of prismatic IMO Type B independent cargo tank.

Classification society Lloyds Register said initial approval of the South Korean yard’s ACTIB (aluminium cargo tank independent Type B) has been granted for a 210,000-cbm LNG regasification vessel.

The tank may also be of interest for LNG shuttle vessels and floating production, storage and offloading units, and where partial filling can lead to sloshing issues in other designs.“DSME
