Chevron has made a new gas discovery in Australia that it said will support long-term growth plans for the Gorgon LNG project.
The Pontus-1 exploration well hit 30 metres of net gas pay. The well was drilled in block WA-37-L about 65 kilometres north-west of Barrow Island, which is hosting the Gorgon plant.
