A top Qatari official has expressed willingness to build liquefaction trains at the Golden Pass LNG import facility in the US.
Asked whether the Qatar Petroleum-controlled terminal will be converted for export, Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah told The National newspaper: “I think yes, why not?”
“It’s not very attractive to sell gas into the US market,” Al-Attiyah added. “The world needs a lot of gas, and I think (US) shale gas will play a role in that.”
