Russia’s Gazprom is gearing up to sign a preliminarily agreement with Japan’s Itochu and Japex to build a liquefaction plant at Vladivostok.
The partners are expected to ink the deal during the Asian-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit being held in the Russian far east city this weekend, according to Japan’s Nikkei news agency.
National energy agency boss Ichiro Takahara and Gazprom chief executive Alexey Miller will sign the agreement.
Gazprom forecasts construction costs for the 10 million tonnes per annum facility will be between $7 billion and $10 billion.
