Gasol has hatched an LNG floating imports plan for the Gulf of Guinea, a 180-degree turn for the UK-listed energy minnow, which had long pursued an export project in Gabon.
The company intends to install a floating storage and regasification unit at an unidentified port in the African region. Gasol has meanwhile hired David Shipway, who helped develop the Kitimat LNG export project in Canada for Galveston LNG, as head of upstream gas projects.
