Gail (India) is close to finalising a second US LNG supply deal for 2 million tonnes per annum.
Senior executives from the Indian utility are said to have visited America last week to put the finishing touches to the deal, according to The Times of India newspaper.
The 20 year contract could be worth $12 billion.
Gail is known to have been mulling volumes from the planned Freeport liquefaction project on Quintana Island.
