BG Group and Ophir Energy have hit gas at a fourth well in Tanzania, adding further credence to a two-train LNG development.
Preliminary evaluation of the Jodari-1 well, located in Block 1 offshore southern Tanzania, indicates gross recoverable resources in the 2.5 trillion to 4.4 trillion cubic feet range.
Ophir chief executive Nick Cooper said the result “materially exceeded pre-drill estimates and represents the largest discovery in Ophir’s history”.
