Floating liquefaction is one of three options on the table for an export facility at Port Valdez, Alaska.

Government-owned Alaska Gasline Port Authority said FLNG is “to be explored” and is a “viable option”.

A second choice is for a standalone project on land previously approved as the site of Yukon Pacific’s proposed liquefaction plant, which was pulled earlier this year.

A final plan under consideration is to build the facility at the existing Trans Atlantic Pipeline System Valdez marine oil terminal.
