A fire at the Angola LNG plant has pushed back start-up possibly into the fourth quarter.
The blaze has delayed testing of the new 5.2 million tonnes per annum liquefaction facility near Soyo, sources said.
The official line is that a first cargo could be produced by September but insiders are said to have expressed doubts about this timetable.
Angola LNG executives did not respond to requests for comment.
The project looks set to suffer a year of delays after the debut for the first cargo was pushed back from early this year to May and more recently on into July.
