The developer behind the Lake Charles LNG export project in the US has plumped for a new site for its liquefaction kit.
Energy Transfer Equity’s Trunkline LNG subsidiary has scrapped the original option and is now working with so-called site four to the north of the existing Louisiana import terminal, according to a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Field surveys involving civil, cultural and environmental studies will kick off in around two weeks with landowner consent to survey the site “nearly complete”.
The FERC said it will issue a notice of intent to prepare an environmental impact statement for the project once it has received updated information on the location.
