El Paso is seeking consent to export LNG from its Elba Island import terminal in Savannah in the United States.
The outfit’s Southern LNG offshoot, which operates the regasification project, has applied to the Department of Energy for the approval, according to the Savannah Morning Herald.
The developer is so far only asking for the right to send LNG to countries that have a free trade agreement with the US.
