Gazprom chief executive Alexey Miller and Japan’s director-general of the Agency for Natural Resources Ichiro Takahara have signed a preliminary deal to develop the Vladivostok LNG export project on Russia’s eastern coast.
The memorandum is expected to boost cooperation on financing and gas marketing aspects of the project.
The agreement was inked at the Asia-Pacific leaders’ summit in Vladivostok this weekend in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda.
